More than a platform

Technology knows no boundaries. Why should our tools?

Orthevs connects technology disciplines in one engineering ecosystem. It is not a loose tool collection, but an extensible system that integrates established technologies and can create its own tools, engines, Factory plugins, products and solutions.

01 / Research & Design

Explore ideas and design systems

Requirements, models, architectures and technical decisions are developed transparently and retained as versioned engineering artifacts.

02 / Build & Engineer

Create technologies and capabilities

Labs combine specialized tools, native or integrated engines and Factory plugins into reproducible engineering flows.

03 / Test & Validate

Test, evaluate and qualify

Function, security, quality, performance, resilience and recovery are evaluated against transparent criteria with reproducible evidence.

04 / Deploy & Integrate

Deliver and connect with control

Technologies are integrated into different target environments, approved and transferred into operation through traceable handovers.

05 / Operate & Observe

Operate, observe and secure

States, events, policies, risks and service objectives remain visible and governable through shared platform services.

06 / Optimize & Evolve

Improve, modernize and evolve

Operational insight feeds back into new releases, adapted baselines and the next engineering cycle under version control.

Engineering Labs

Specialized worlds. One shared universe.

Each Engineering Lab is a specialist world with its own Core, Workbench, Factory Manager, tools, engines, processes and Factory plugins. Labs remain autonomous and connect their capabilities through documented APIs, events, artifacts and Capability Contracts.

Factory Portfolio

Engineering Capability Portfolio · 272 conceived capabilities.

The portfolio maps the planned capabilities of the Factory plugins. It describes domain responsibility and the target model — not universally available product features. Version, maturity, qualification profile and evidence are intended to show transparently what is conceived, validated, qualified or proven as a production reference.

Foundations · Wiki · Tools · Engines

Explain solutions, knowledge and execution separately. Connect them deliberately.

Dedicated sections show the role Foundations, wiki knowledge, tools and engines play in the Orthevs system. Every entry states its goal, integration, maturity and explicit boundaries.

System architecture

Modular in structure. Connected across environments.

Orthevs separates shared platform concerns, domain responsibility and installable capabilities. Platform Core, Labs and Factory plugins retain clear boundaries and can collaborate as local services, in private or public clouds and, eventually, in Orthevs OS through versioned contracts.

Architecture
Layer 01

Platform Core

Identity, registry, policy, audit, projects, tenants, secrets, events, state, workers and artifacts form the shared governance, runtime and integration foundation.

Layer 02

Engineering Labs

Independent domains provide their Lab Core, workspaces, Factory Manager, tools, engines, processes, evaluations and defined interfaces.

Layer 03

Factory plugins

Installable capabilities encapsulate concrete tasks and use native or integrated tools and engines. Inputs, outcomes, permissions, artifacts, evidence and lifecycle rules remain explicit.

Layer 04

Foundations, standards & solution workflows

Foundations are versioned solution templates. They model processes and workflows and combine suitable Factory plugins and Labs into adaptable solution blueprints.

Foundations & Standards

Connect processes. Shape workflows. Make solutions reusable.

An Orthevs Foundation is a versioned solution template: it models processes and workflows, combines the required capabilities in a meaningful sequence, and adds architecture, guardrails, validation, operations, evidence and maintenance.

01 · Foundation

Versioned solution template

Scope, processes, workflows, capabilities, reference architecture and operational knowledge are maintained as one coherent, adaptable solution blueprint.

02 · Qualification

Transparent evaluation, not blanket claims

Reviews, reproducible tests and security, operations and quality gates create versioned evidence for a clearly bounded scope.

03 · Organization Baseline

Shared foundation. Individual context.

Organizations adopt a Foundation under control, add parameters and extensions, and document deviations, approvals and upgrade decisions.

Foundation as a solution blueprint

From versioned design to an operable solution.

A Foundation preserves more than an outcome: it preserves the traceable route to the solution. It translates the design into processes and workflows and binds the right capabilities to them.

01 · Starting point

Design as Code

Goals, requirements, architecture, assumptions and success criteria are described in a structured, versioned form.

02 · Foundation

The solution template composes the delivery path

Parameters and guardrails keep the blueprint adaptable while its origin, handoffs and mandatory rules remain traceable.

ProcessesRoles, states, handoffs and approvals.
WorkflowsSteps, conditions, dependencies and failure paths.
CapabilitiesLabs, Factory plugins, tools and engines through versioned contracts.
Versioned · parameterized · verifiable · adaptable
03 · Outcome

Solution as Code

The complete solution includes technical artifacts, configuration, operating model, evidence and lifecycle.

Qualification & approval

From a Foundation idea to a maintained catalog reference.

Mandatory gates cannot be offset by an aggregate score. Failed reviews or tests lead back into controlled revision.

Organization Baseline

A shared Foundation becomes a deliberately adapted organizational baseline.

Origin, parameters, extensions, exceptions, approvals and upgrade decisions remain traceable throughout the lifecycle.

Example · Cross-domain Foundation

A Foundation connects processes and workflows across multiple Labs into a verifiable solution blueprint.

The Enterprise Kubernetes Foundation example shows how infrastructure, operating system, platform, security and operations combine their capabilities in one solution workflow with integrated quality gates.

“Orthevs-qualified” refers to the planned internal qualification against transparent criteria. It is not a claim of independent certification or automatic regulatory compliance.

Foundations

Orthevs Everywhere

One ecosystem. Every operating environment.

The shared engineering foundation is designed for different operating models. Local services, cloud instances and Orthevs OS can work independently or exchange capabilities, workflows and artifacts through a federated model.

01 · Local Service

Engineering on site

Platform Core, selected Labs and capabilities run on a workstation, VM or single server, including isolated environments.

02 · Cloud Service

Scalable and distributed

Private or public cloud environments provide scalable workloads, shared resources and highly available services.

03 · Orthevs OS

Integrated operating system

A dedicated distribution with Orthevs Runtime and a shared web, desktop, CLI and TUI experience as a long-term target.

04 · Connected

Collaborate through federation

Local, cloud and OS instances exchange capabilities, events and artifact references under control without dissolving their trust boundaries.

Principles

Technological freedom through clear architecture.

Clear responsibilities, versioned contracts and verifiable outcomes create room for native development, integration and continuous evolution.

01

Modularity over monoliths

Labs and Factories can be developed, versioned and operated independently.

02

Contracts over implicit coupling

Versioned APIs, events and Capability Contracts make collaboration explicit.

03

Traceability from the start

Concepts, process chains, runs, configurations, artifacts and provenance form one engineering result.

04

Security as a platform concern

Identity, secrets, policies and auditing are shared concerns instead of being reinvented by every Lab.

05

Evaluation before approval

Simulations, tests and measurements show where a Foundation is suitable and where its limits lie.

06

Shared foundation, individual context

Organizations share proven approaches while adding their own policies, providers, target environments and approvals.

07

Deployment freedom

Capabilities are intended to remain usable on single servers, clusters and, over time, in Orthevs OS.

08

Continuous evolution

New technologies, insights and requirements flow back into versioned systems and Foundations under control.

Engagement models

A vision that grows from clear foundations.

Orthevs is building its technological foundation. Engagement therefore follows a traceable scope and the next verifiable outcome — not already-claimed standard editions.

01 · Orientation
